Speaker 1:

Well, welcome back. Today's devotional is in our Identity in Christ series, and it is I Am Blameless. Now, the journey of a Christian often feels fraught with mistakes, weaknesses and failures. Yet in the midst of our imperfections, god offers us an incredible promise he will sustain us to the end and present us guiltless before him. This assurance of blamelessness is not based on our own works, but on our union with Christ and his perfect work on our behalf. Well, hello, my name is James Long Jr.

Speaker 1:

I'm a pastor, counselor and university professor. Welcome to Lessons for Life, where I help people whose pain from their past or their present is influencing their perspective on life Through teaching them about a person, the Lord Jesus Christ, principles and promises driven from God's Word, and giving them a pathway for change. My goal is to guide you towards peace, hope and joy. In today's lesson, we will be exploring how God's truth can transform your life and how to experience the joy of forgiveness and freedom found in Christ alone. Well, the passage of scripture that we will be looking at today is found in 1 Corinthians 1.8. It says this God will sustain you to the end, guiltless, in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Well, here's the devotional thought.

Speaker 1:

Paul's message to the Corinthians serves as a powerful reminder that, although we are far from perfect in our lives, our status before God is one of blamelessness in Christ. The Corinthians, like us, had their struggles and shortcomings. Their behavior often did not align with the holy life to which God had called them. Yet Paul assured them that God, who is faithful, will keep them and present them guiltless on the day of Christ's return. This blamelessness is not a temporary state or something that fluctuates based on our performance. It is a permanent standing before God, granted through the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. When we are in Christ, there is no condemnation. Romans 8.1. We are fully justified and will one day stand before God without guilt or shame. This truth is not only a source of comfort, but also a call to live in light of our identity in Christ. Though we still struggle with sin and imperfection, we can live with the confidence that God is working in us, transforming us more and more into the likeness of Christ. Our blamelessness before God is secure and we can trust in Him to complete the good work he has begun in us.

Philippians 1.6. Bringing it home, applying what we've learned 3 points 1. Rest in God's promise, know that God is faithful and will sustain you until the end, presenting you blameless in Christ. 2. Live in your identity. Though we are not yet perfect in our behavior, we are guiltless in God's eyes through Christ. Let that truth guide your daily walk.

Speaker 1:

3. Trust God's faithfulness Even when we stumble. Trust that God is working to make you who he called you to be a reflection of Christ. Well, let us pray. Father, thank you for the promise that you will sustain me to the end and present me blameless before you. Help me to live in the confidence that comes from being in Christ. Strengthen me to trust in your faithfulness, knowing that you are working in me to reflect your holiness In Jesus' namejrorg that's jameslongjrorg.
